My hopes of never again seeing Neifi Perez in a Cubs uniform have been dashed, as the club will announce today that they've signed him to a 2 year extension.
The most frustrating part is that Dusty will play Neifi FAR more than he should, because Neifi is one of Dusty's guys. I was excited to see a DP combo of Furcal and Cedeno. Now Cedeno will have to fight Neifi for playing time.
What is Hendry thinking?

With all his shortcomings, Perez is a decent shortstop and a good #7 or #8 hitter. If he could take pitches and was a smarter hitter, he would be getting twice as much money.
